Terms of service

By accessing and using the 47th Joint Operations Unit website ("the Site") and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "user") and the 47th Joint Operations Unit ("47th JOU", "we", "us", or "our").

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Site and participate in the 47th JOU. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Access to certain features of the Site may require authentication through third-party services such as Discord. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

• You must not share your account credentials with others
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion

The 47th JOU is a semi-serious milsim community. Members and visitors are expected to conduct themselves with maturity and respect. When using the Site and participating in unit activities, you agree not to:

Prohibited conduct

• Engage in harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or bullying of any kind
• Post, upload, or distribute harmful, illegal, obscene, or offensive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts, or data
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Site without permission
• Impersonate other users, unit leadership, or staff members
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site, servers, or connected networks
• Use the Site for any commercial purpose without prior written consent

Violations of this code of conduct may result in warnings, temporary suspension, permanent ban, or removal from the unit, at the sole discretion of unit leadership.

All content on the Site - including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, and software - is the property of the 47th JOU or its content creators and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Site without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.

Arma 3 and related trademarks are the property of Bohemia Interactive a.s. The 47th JOU is a community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bohemia Interactive.

By submitting content to the Site (including but not limited to media and after-action reports), you grant the 47th JOU a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content in connection with the Site and unit operations.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.

The Site reads from, embeds, or links out to a number of third-party services. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service's own terms and policies. Active integrations are:

• Discord: public guild widget and invite endpoints (online and approximate member counts), Discord OAuth for admin sign-in, deep-link URLs to Command Staff profiles, and images hosted on cdn.discordapp.com.
• operations.47thjou.co.uk: public Mission Board pages are read server-side and the next open op is surfaced on the home page. The Mission Board is operated by the same unit but on separate infrastructure.
• YouTube: video thumbnails served from img.youtube.com, the youtube-nocookie.com player embedded in some op reports, and click-through links to youtube.com.
• Twitch: the live status of member channels is read server-side for the Operations page, with links out to twitch.tv.
• netcup: hosting (EU).
• Cloudflare: content delivery and protection from attacks for every request to the Site.
• Outbound links: Steam, Twitch, GitHub, Google Sheets, MilSimUnits, and units.arma3.com are linked from the footer and elsewhere. We do not control those destinations.

Live data fetched from these services is cached server-side for short windows (typically 1 to 5 minutes) and never persisted. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of read endpoints and what they return.

The Site and all content are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the Site at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the 47th JOU, its leadership, staff, and members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the 47th JOU, its leadership, staff, and members from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last modified. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved that way, the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
